Getting around Verizon a-key regeneration w/ hard reset

Title says it all, my question is, can you do it?? The verizon tech support team told me that with every hard reset on the XV6800, you must call tech support and get an a-key regenerated. How can I get around this so I dont have to call if I plan on doing a hard reset or flashing a new ROM over to my phone?

let me see if i can explain this with some accuracy. The only time i had to actually call verizon for the akey is when I did a hard reset on my phone. Since then I've flashed two different roms and even one radion upgrade and didn't have to call verizon. With the radio upgrade people said they still had to call verizon and with my previous history of rom flashing I was always that same stat that had to call verizon or whatever bad was going to happen, happened. But this time around when upgrading to dcd's gps rom with the radio upgrade i didin't have a problem. I don't know if it has anything to do with you writing down your msid and mdn down before flashing and filling it back in when you are done flashing. <----- if you don't know what i'm talking about then just search "xda-developers" for what i just mentioned. After I filled those in all I had to do was dial *228 and then option 1 and my phone was up and running.
