The feature wasn't even listed on mine... I switched from the sony to the clarion to hopefully increase bluetooth audio quality (helped a little), and the pause feature was just a bonus.

Here's a JVC deck ($260) that shows your phonebook and incoming SMS content... pretty advanced, but doesnt specifically say it shows the bluetooth audio track info.... http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...=detailed_info

I have pretty much given up on the feature that displays the track info on the headunit. I dont think its possible at this point in time. As for the pausing when you turn off the car, i think this is an impossible feature to look for, but in theory if i just hit pause when i get out of my car and play when i get in my car i can just have my phone media player open 24/7.
My local bestbuy has the the Sony MEX-BT2500 for 110$ which i thought was a good deal. But the guy at best buy said that it has crap sound quility. What do you guys think?

Re: Req: Bluetooth over car stereo

1) track info maybe possible, but maybe a customize thing. I've heard SE walkman phone display track info on SE A2DP headset like the DS970, not confirm though

2) I also recommended the Parrot MK6100, I've one and it rock. with the A2DP you can even route GPS navigation voice prompt/instruction through the car stereo (with 2 minor issues, the unit does not switch over fast enough so lose about 0.2 seconds in the begining, so need customized voice files to compensate, and after the voice prompt finish, take about 1-2 seconds before the Parrot unit release the system back to the car's deck/HU)

Parrot kit is especially good for those of us with newer car that do not have a standard aftermarket Headunit interface, or for those of us who want to keep the stock as much stock/OEM as possible.

Re: Req: Bluetooth over car stereo

How feasible is it to stream music in your car through bluetooth or anything else through evo? Is the connection stable enough that you can drive long periods of time without loosing connection to evo? Even 1x isnt good enough for streaming in my experience as it constantly keeps buffering. It would be a pain if you keep on loosing connection to evo as youre driving and having to constantly hit play every couple of minutes.

I stream XM over EVDO via my Parrot MK6100 and no problems at all. Connection is reliable.

Re: Req: Bluetooth over car stereo

Ok here is the scope. I bought the Sony BT2500 but it turns out it doesnt have any rca jacks for subs. So i upgraded to the just released BT2600 which does. You do not need any special software to pump out music via the A2DP but the annoying part is you have to connect that every time. As opposed to the headset part of bluetooth that auto hooks up. That is where A2DPtoggle comes into play. It will hookup the A2DP connection and start whatever program you want. I use pocket player and love it. I stream all my music to my phone via EVDO and it works pretty well. Maybe once a drive it will have a little hiccup. The one thing i do wish i had now is the hands free calling even though i thought that was a feature i did not want. I would think that it would be possible to make a program like A2DP to connect completely automated since the phone hooks up 100% on its own. You could use that as a trigger for the next event but i am not a skilled enough programmer to make it happen. I am still looking for new/interesting ways to play my stream my music. Right now i am just running pre-configured m3u's that point to my own server but i would like something that would be a little more friendly for media libraries. Maybe like a vpn or something.

Re: Req: Bluetooth over car stereo

I just found out that i can sync up my headunit and my phone by pressing the play button on my headunit when it is on bluetooth audio. This doesnt however play any music because it would have to launch a program. Any ideas? In the past i have used a2dptoggle which automatically launches my music app. But if i can just do it on my headunit i wouldnt have to take my phone out of my pocket :P

Option 1 : buy a2dp profile supported bluetooth car stereo. this setup will require you to connect phone to stereo and then you off to enjoy music. As far as i know , a2dp does not connect automatically unlike headset. you have manually iniciate pairing. there are plugin available to make this process one touch (mentioned in previous post).

Option 2: cheaper way to do it(this is what i am using) for those who still have cassette player.
buy A2DP receiver (bt to 3.5mm) adpater (available online/ebay for 10-40 dollar) and 3.5mm to cassette adapter. your phone pairs up to adapter and send signal through cassette adapter.

if budget is not a concern, go for option 1. but i went for second and all i spent was 25 bucks.

HIGHLY RECOMEND: :change bt stack registry setting to 48000 mhz and set jointstereo to 1 to get best audio out of phone. audio quality will same as ipod if not better

goodluck and ask if you any other concern.
where is the bt stack setting located?

NVM found it at XDA
"ADD the following value to the registry at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings:
Name: SampleRate
Value (DWORD): 48000 (decimal)"
