Who's BT headset does NOT lock up their Alltel PPC6800...

I have read this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...luetooth+crash and searched the TITAN/PPC6800 section ad nauseum & can't find any diffinitive lists.

I have a Motorola H505, seems that anytime I leave the H505's connection area I'm locked; screen on, screen asleep, doesn't matter.

So....who has a BT headset that DOESN'T lock up ur PPC6800?

What ROM are you running? That's the biggest question.

It shouldn't matter Which BT headset your using, as there is a known problem with *SOME* phones and/or software combinations. I myself have used 3 different BT headsets, BT GPS, and sync to my computer with BT and I have never encountered any of the problems that are touted on the boards.

I also have the same Motorola headset as you BTW.

My suggestion is to try the newest Stock ROM for your carrier with No software installed. Test the Headset and see if it works... if you still have problems then we can talk about your choices (Exchange phone, different drivers, etc)

I've checked the ROM update available from Alltel and I'm already current. I wish I'd have thought to check the BT while I had the damn thing Hard-Reset empty yesterday. I guess I'll dump everything, try the BT, and then slowly reload - trying BT as I go.

This is a known issue with the alltel rom, you should be fine if you upgrade to one of the hacked roms here, dogguy has one that works from what im told, but i have yet to try it...

Hmm...no luck reachin DogGuy; hasn't answered my PM. ANy suggestions where else to look for a nice stable, easy to load Custom Rom to smooth out my BT that's compatible w/ Alltel? Might be fun to get some GPS use while I"m at it

i went back to 5.0 and my BT worked perfect ....im about to update to dcd 2.2.6 ill let you know how BT works

I have tryed WM5 as well but it caused the same issue, so that is not a fix, at least for my issue. I was told that the new roms do fix the issue, i am going to try the new GPS rom when i get a spare sec.

While having used no2chem's rom build's 5038 - 5046 (5046 recieved current BT stack), I have had fantatstic BT results with using my BlueAnt X3 Micro (handsfree) and Jabra BT8010 (handsfree & stereo).

Lemme know which ROM that is & where u got it. I found that thread to the FTP site w/ all the ROMS available, but there are too many and no viable explanations about each.

xweaponx, does no2chem's build activate the GPS by chance?

And finally....I have an Alltel ppc6800. Is this phone a good candidate for either of the ROM's you guys mentioned?
