F&^$ing BT either crashes or won't return to voice op after the headset shuts down; did it again today For the bread they charge this shouldn't be an issue. Shame on Alltell.
Alrighty then. Thanks for the info xweaponx, gonna muster some courage & go for it. Yikes! |

You will be fine. Make sure to read QuantumForce1's thread thoroughly before proceeding, posted below. It is a well written how-to...

I didn't understand why I'd wanna flash Sprint's 3.16 onto my alltel phone. And sure enough, it doesn't dial etc.
this step doesnt work 8. Dial ##MSL# - this is the 6 digit code you retrieved in step 2 above I'd think it'd be fine to put 5046 on top of my ALltell rom, no? |

OK Here's the full story:
Got the Sprint 3.16 loaded, but it wouldn't lemme do step 8, wouldn' t dial, had the right MDN. Loaded 5046, no help. I gave up I reloaded the ALLTEL ROM, that process required re-entering the MDN/MSID (##000000, edit the MDN and MSID to your 10 digit phone number) Now I'm back to stock & have accomplished nothing. I tried running the TitanReloader, Hard-SPL, 5046 on top of this stock ROM, but I get ERROR 262 (freezes at the 0% mark) So I'm basically back to square one. Hey , at least I didn't brick my phone ![]() Any idea how to get the Sprint 3.16 to function on my ALLTEL network? Maybe install Radio 3.27 only? IF so, how do I do that? |

Don't use the Sprint version, use DCD's ROM... he has an Alltel port for it, no need to try to figure out how to make it work with Alltel. Just follow the directions (unlocker, ROM, radio in that order) and when everything is installed, then just dial *228 and select option 3 to reprovision the phone (this saves you having to enter the MDN/MSID/etc). Then, after the phone reboots, dial *228 again and select option 2 to get the current PRL.
I'm using DCD's WM6.1 2.2.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=384) myself on my Alltel 6800... Bluetooth seemed to work fine with my Jabra BT350 headset the few times I used it (I have a Seidio handsfree car kit for in the car, and I refuse to walk around looking like a Borg) ![]() The only issue I have had is that the phone would freeze up if I left it on the charger overnight... we had a discussion about that over at XDA and think it has more to do with the radio than the ROM... otherwise the ROM has been flawless!
