Worst experience ever with 3.16

iota will not work on my phone so am in the process of trying to go back to 2.17. I run RUU but get the following error message as it only goes to 1% and then exits: "the update utility cannot be used for your PDA phone, check your Update Utility."

And then I click Exit to quit.

Any ideas?

For the iota issues go to your ##Data# settings see if anything is missing in there, ive noticed the that usually the username is missing. User name is your First/last name@sprintpcs.com ex. johndoe@sprintpcs.com

If you change that and your phone restarts and still doesnt IOTA, than you will have to sign onto sprint.com, login. Go to settings and passwords. On the bottom left it says phone acess, click on wireless web passcode and change the pw, Change it and remember it JIC. after that try connecting to the net again and it should work. If it doesnt just wait like 15 20 min.

Hope this helps you out with the 3.16 ROM issue your having.

I did all that with advanced tech support. No dice. IOTA just doesn't want to load on this rom. I am trying to reflash with 2.17 or hell even 2.09 but nothing is working.

Run this utility:

PHP Code:

Follow the steps exactly as they state.

Then install 2.17

Can't go wrong. Otherwise, try this:

My phone was never unocked as well..never had a custom ROM...and it wouldnt let me re-install 2.17 until i unlocked it. I too would get the 1% and phone would just shut off.

Phone was flashed one last time without hitching at 11%, went and did IOTA one last time and bam I had internet. I think the 11% hitch is causing a problem for the tables with the correct codes. Who knows all I know is that I got my data plan working and am not fooking iwth the phone anymore other than installing apps. Next rom flash will only be the official release. No more unofficials for me.

Whenever you flash a new ROM, you MUST let it run the ext_ROM customizations the first time. Then you can run the IOTA app. Then, do a hard reset and skip the customizations.

Basic flashing stuff here, people...
