the tilt is the best one yet. why?
-the colors on the numeric keypads.

Not important, trivial

-the SIM card location is convenient (not behind the battery)

6800 doesnt even have a sim card, winner=titan

-the SD card slot has a cover now so your SD card cant shoot out without you knowing it (not that its ever happened but you know it could)

ive never shot my card out without knowing it, its in there pretty tight IMO

-the stylus on this thing is awesome, best stylus ive ever owned. its long and sharp.

Ive never played with the stylus on the thing, but if it fits better than the titan than its good to go

-the phone looks pimp

I agree, the titan looks like a toy compared to the kaiser

-the tilt feature is very usefull

I cant imagine it being worth the purchase useful, but saying you have a good head set and a large memory card, it'd make for some nice experiences

-camera is much better than 6800 and Tytn

booth of them suk, its just that the kaisers sucks less, and not having a flash is a downfall, i use my flash for things other than the camera

-128mb of ram

well worth it to a new user of either atnt or sprint

-internal GPS working out of the box

give it a month or two, this will not matter

-it tells you exactly how much battery you have left (ex:73% left) but the mogul only displays 90%,80%,70%, etc.

does that even matter? your gonna just act the same as untill it reaches 10%, its not like 11% will be the deciding factor for that hour long conversation

-when exploring the /Windows folder, it doesnt take 6 seconds to load, it only takes half the time now.

This is all about what you got in it, and also, if you have files hidden or not

-smaller but a tiny bit heavier than the tytn

not worth the comparison

-phone turns on when you slide it to landscape mode instead of having to slide open and press power

Now thats kool, i wish the titan had that

all i can say is that the tilt is good, its not remarkably better, it just good, its not worth jumping ship for, but if you dont have a contract with sprint, the titan would be the safer bet

and the evdo on my mogul is well worth the keeping, add that in with tethering and im good to go, i cant wait to use my gps too!

For me it was a Cheap data plan & Rev. A so I went for the Mogul.
However 128MB RAM is awesome & so is the 3.0MP camera of the Tilt.

What I don't like about the mogul is the mundane 64MB of RAM (For the love of air, WHY not 128MB?!)
What I don't like about the Tilt is AT&T (They are evil when it comes to PPCs, EVIL!*)

Thats where my Pro/Con ends... I hope it helps.

*=You were warned. (Google some facts about it.)

not to mention the worst thing about at&t is that what makes them more than evil is that they don't wanna offer insurance to their customers for any PDA devices. this is the only thing that bugs me besides your initial sentiment.

i thought this was more of a Tilt vs. Mogul debate, not a AT&T vs. Sprint debate.
i just bought me an unlocked Tilt and i use it with Rogers.
but from what i hear, Sprint has the best data plans for sure.

Tilt owns the Mogul and 6800 (ive had all 3 so im not biased)
Sprint owns every other company in data plans

Fair enough but it's the reason I chose Mogul over Tilt so it is relevant. Tilt is a better device with more resources and features but it would have cost me a lot more to operate - at least $720 more over a 2 year contract based on data package alone. It was enough to make me choose the Mogul with its lower RAM and no GPS out of the box (at the moment). Anyway I could fix the second one with a quick flash ;)

I appreciate the ATT vs Sprint perspective. I would rather have a crappy phone from a good company, than have my experience with a good phone tarnished by having to deal with a crappy PITA company. This thread has definitely strengthened my resolve to wait for the 6800.

True but it costs Soooo much more to own the Tilt. That's the bottom line argument coming from everyone. I don't think anyone is saying that the Tilt isn't good (actually it's great).... but is it $700 better than the Mogul?
What good is a good PPC phone without a good data plan .. that is affordable.

MercuryTYTN 02-01-2008 08:41 PM

I only pay 20 dollars for unlimited data on ATT. Besides i've had Sprint and their voice and customer service sucked. By the way, I 'd get the Kaiser. It's not bloated with the ATT junk. It's the same phone from HTC.

The biggest part of even using a cell phone is choosing which company you want to go with. That said, for many of us Mogul/6800 owners, we choose CDMA providers because they are more robust than GSM providers in America. There isn't even a debate as to which providers have the most coverage area because CDMA towers are able to send signals further into more remote areas. That and CDMA providers have much larger high speed networks available in many more places.

Phones are only as good/bad as the user needs them to be, so it all depends.

-Do you need a hardware keyboard? Then the Touch isn't an option.
-Do you require more ram in your phone than the Mogul has due to the apps you run/etc? Then the Mogul probably isn't for you.
-Do you really like and use the TouchFlo interface? Then you will like the touch.
-Do you really want OZ IM? Then the touch is for you.

Just a ton of subjective questions you have to ask yourself. Most other people's opinions won't really apply to you unless they have the same needs/uses.
