Thanks for all the responses so far everyone.

I have had a few seconds here and there of temptation to just run out and buy the Tilt, but I've been lurking here since November and have seen the overwhelmingly negative opinion of ATT.

One reason I want the Mogul is to use the flashlight app, that seems very useful.

The Unlimited data package here on the EVDO network is $40/month, no catches.

Also, it seems like the Community support here at ppc is much stronger for the Mogul than the Tilt.

The flashlight app is a funny reason to pick the Mogul over the Tilt but hey, whatever makes you happy.. :)

I don't think anyone would argue that the Tilt isn't a great phone. If it was available on Sprint, me and alot of others would be tempted. But it's on ATT network and that puts alot of people off (Cost, and depending on where you are - speed).

I love the flashlight app. The more devices rolled into one, the better. I consider my phone a phone/pda/bad camera/gps/flashlight. I used to carry around a led flashlight in my pocket and hope for a blackout. Is there something wrong with me?. =D

I have both the tilt and mogul and love both. The tilt is awesome with the extra ram. If you regedit tilt you can get the hsdpa which of course depending on location, can be fast as hell to compete with evdo rev a. but yah att definately pricey but they only carrier that has hsdpa on gsm that I've seen

In a nutshell, the tilt IS a better device. What bottlenecks it is At&ts network. If you live in an area where HSDPA is enabled, then you will get very very fast speeds, actually about as fast as evdo rev.a. What deters people from the tilt is At&ts data prices, (COMPLETE rip-offs) and there voice rates suck as well, and also limited high speed coverage..

As said before the reason the mogul is so popular is because Sprint has the largest high speed data network in the US, and there voice and data prices are ridiculously cheap. Even though its short on operating RAM, its hands down the best Full Qwerty pocket pc for cdma networks. Its the closest thing you can get to the tilt, with awesome data speeds and prices, and on top of that, the titan is the most discussed phone out, next to the iphone, so we have a HUGE HUGE pool of hackers and tweakers to help us get the most out of out moguls!!!

AMEN TO THAT BROTHER I LOVE THE MOGUL EVEN THO I HAVE A HTC ADVANTAGE THAT I LOVE AS WELL BUT BEING THAT IT NOT SPRINT NETWORK I PLAY WITH IS LESS AND REV.A MADE A WHOLE WORLD OF A DIFFERNCE IN SPEEDS I DIDNT REALLY LIKE THE TILT MUCH NOW IF THEY ONLT MADE A REMOGUL WITH MORE RAM AND A FASTER CPU AND LARGER SCREEN I WOULD GO WITH 3.5 INCH INSTEAD OF 2.8 AND STILL KEEP IT ON THE SLIM MODEL THEN WE TALKING IT WOULD BE A KILLER:mrgreen:

I'm just gonna sound like a broken record but despite the few improvements in the Tilt (RAM, etc.), the thing is slow due to driver issues (tried them both out side by side) and at least when it is Sprint vs. ATT, you are talking about a $15/month versus $45/month unlimited data package. Not to mention the slower speed on ATT's network.

Besides, AT&T are the ones who do nice things like work with the RIAA and are trying to get immunity in congress from legal actions regarding their spying on Americans data traffic for the NSA. Call me a hippie but I choose not to give my money to those who would get involved in that sort of stuff. The worst you'll hear about Sprint is that their phone customer service reps suck ;)
