Does flashing a new rom erase contacts

I lreday lost all of mine cuz i restored the phone but i have some back now i just wanna know if i need to back them up

So does it?

back them up!

yes, flashing a new rom will get rid of your contacts and any other personal information on the device. so back up everything you can before continuing.

Whenever you flash you phone: plan on losing everything because of all the things that "could" happen. Better to do like you did and keep a backup even if you never use it again.

3rd party apps can back up your contacts. I use sync w/ outlook its the best way IMO.

i have also found recently that you can sync your contacts with a yahoo email account with their new yahoo go! application.

You should also be aware that when flashing to a new ROM, your backup MAY not restore everything correctly (usually contacts will restore fine, but a lot of times, programs may not).
