SPD Backup after 3.16

I used SPD backup to backup all of my information, when I try to restore it it works, but it doesn't read my SD card anymore. It is a 8GB card, it will read it before I restore my information, so its not the new update, at least not completely.

Did you create your backup in 3.16 or an earlier ROM version?

Earlier ROM, I kind of suspected that was the problem. How would I backup my data to be able to use it with 3.16? Or is that just not possible?

How would I go about backing my information up? Do I have to reload the old rom and use a different backup program?

Restoring between ROM versions can have mixed/unexpected results. Sprite Backup has a ROM upgrade restore mode, but I have no idea how well that works. Spb backup has a selective restore, so if you just wanted to restore your Text messages, contacts, calendar items, etc... you can do that. But doing a full restore between ROM versions with Spb Backup is a bad idea, as you can break certain things, such as SD card access...

yep it's unlikely to operate properly restoring to a rom different from the rom it was backed up on... this is why after flashing to a new rom, i load all of my programs and run a 'perfect state' backup so that i can always go back to it if i see the device getting wacky...

TalynOne is exactly right. Doing a full restore after a ROM upgrade is not a good idea. One that that you may try is to revert to the 2.17 and load up the backup that you created, then install Sprite backup and create a backup and use it as it has the ROM upgrade option. Its free for 14 days i believe.

Whats the point of creating backup if you cant restore docs and emails.
SPB BACKUP has failed! I need to buy something else for future backups any suggestions?
