Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread
I cannot get GPS to work on my newly acquired Titan with a PPCkitchen WM 6.5 21501. I made sure to select "GPS" from the Rev drop-down box. I installed Olipro 2.40 bootloader and Radio 3.42.50 prior to loading the ROM.
I have taken the steps using QPST listed here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...VerizonAGPSFix And the External GPS settings listed here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17032 I've also tried the |||bored||| GPS fix originally for the Touch Pro: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462206 I'm noticing the ROM listed in the kitchen's 21501 build is 3.0.666.1 (or something similar) when the PPCgeeks site says 3.16.651.0 is the minimum which can be used. However, the XDA developers site says that with the edits made using QPST, any ROM can be used. I'm also pretty surprised the ROM number for a 6.5 is lower than the stock 6.1... I have the VZW stock WM 6.1 ROM (3.57.605.1) and radio 3.37.75 and tried to use those as well with no luck. So, no GPS with PPCkitchen.org's 6.5 21501, and no GPS with the stock 6.1 ROM...any ideas for what I can do to make this thing work?

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread
I bet you have pri 2.03xx. Thsi MR1/MR2 pri blocks gps on any custom rom. You must downgrade and then unlock and flash custom radio and rom again.

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread
stop dude. The bored fix is for the touch pro not the mogul/xv6800. Time to reflash and start over with the correct files. And I dont recognize that pri. I would say to follow the returning to stock thread. Then unlock and reflash custom radio and rom. Then follow thing the agps stuff in the thread below. You really should read that the files are for before you install them. You are lucky you didnt screw something up for good.

You seem the be the expert on this. I have a strange issue. I got a replacement phone from verizon (WM 6.1 on it). I took this phone from the start and downgraded it with the directions there and back to stock/WM 6.0. From that point I unlocked with nueSPL-2.47, put on Radio 3.42.40 and flashed with my custom 6.5 rom. The PRI version is 2.03_002 after this. I attempted to redo everything (back to stock, then same steps to unlock it/flash it). It still shows the same PRI version and of course, GPS does not work at all. Any idea how to fix this before I try flashing this again 20 times ? |

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread
After you downgrade using the following links. Check the pri before unlokcing and installing custom. Is the pri 1.35_002? If no what is the rom and radio versions?

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread
I have the same problem. 3.08.666.1 from kitchen WM6.1 21042
Radio 3.42.50 PRL 51143 PRI 2.03_002 WIth HOLUX GPS Viewer, no satelites are ever acquired. :- ( ![]() I get a bunch of Code:
$GPGSV,1,1,0 $GPGGA,,,,,,0,,,,,,, $GPRMC,,V,,,,,,,,,, $GPGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Which means GPS is providing (respectively,) 1 satelite in view, Invalid Fix, Void, and No Fix. http://www.gpsinformation.org/dale/nmea.htm One Last piece of info, this phone is new to me, and I haven't activated it onto VZW network yet because I won't keep it unless GPS works. So if there is some strange non-obvious reason why it would need cell service.... Thanks in advance! Quote:

Re: Official Titan built-in GPS Thread
You can't have gps with that pri. First downgrade here. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=21161
Verify your pri changed to 1.35xxx. If new pri is present unlock and go straight to custom. Do not install MR1 or MR2. If pri didn't changed. Reflash rom from link above. Last edited by drewcam888; 08-25-2009 at 01:30 PM. |
