This Cant Be That Hard!!!!!!!

Going freaking nuts trying to install this update.
I finally got my phone BACK to factory

How do i do the update? been reading all flippin day and im about to go shoot my dog. this thing cant be that dificult.
can someone please give be a blow by blow (NOOB style) steps to do this?

been trying to get all my code numbers using "getspc" that doint work, tried the sd card install no joy, what the hell is someone to do that obviously is missing something. most posts in here try to explain how to do it but they ASSume that everyone is a techie and knows what a boot loader is or a how and where to install teh new rom etc. im going to bed before i kill something and since I like my dog Im going to bed.

these are perfect instructions

1. Unzip and copy the extracted GetSPC folder (with all 3 files) to the storage card on your device.
2. Write down the ESN (Hex) number found behind the battery.
3. Power up and run the 'GetSPC(PPC 2003)' executable on your device.
4. In the 'Input' field, enter the ESN number you wrote down but be sure to use ALL CAPITOLS for the alpha values. (Ex: 123ABCD4, not 123abcd4)
5. Hit the 'Go' button. The value in the 'Output' field will be your "Unlock Code".

Now PLEASE report back with an all's good ...no loss of internet ??or Call ability ??
I.E. did you have to re key in those funny acronyms values MSID and the like
Or was it just Golden !!! & Clean install..
