yeah its probably still used as a ringtone or media player is still open. Check running programs in the memory tab of settings. If you wanted to cut the song length down you could use htc audio manager you can make ringtones right in there. I like the look of the audio manager better than wmp anyways but thats just me.

Well, make sure that A) when you "shut down" windows media player, you actually go to running process and kill it. And, B) that it's not assigned as a ring tone.
Those should be the only two things that will hinder your deletion progress. |

When your in Windows Media Player, select Now Playing on the bottom left hand corner. There it will show you the song you are trying to delete. highlight the song and click on the little red x on the bottom of your screen. That will delete it from WMP. Close WMP and try to delete the song again.

ringtones stopped workin
hey fellow geekers haha...i have a problem...i have a sprint mogul and have about 5 different ringtones on there i like to use and switch back and fourth from...all a suddon they stopped working....they now longer show up under system "sounds and notifications" only has the factory ringers....the ringers still show up on my memory card tho...i try to add them as ringers from my card and it says rintones cant no be set, please check the storage on ur device and try again later....i still have over 300mb left on my card and 24mb left for programs on device and like 160mb left for storage on device...whats the problem i never had this happen with my 6700....they were working fine all day and now just stopped...i did add about 10 songs onto my phone earlier...so i took the ones i added back off to free up space and to see if they were comflicting, still the same thing....
