so it really dosent fit here but couldn't find a better place I guess, can we mod the ppcgeeks site to detect the browser id or link to a mobile style of the forums?

To use the mobile version when you load it there is a drop down box in the very bottom left corner. Mine says --Marvel2. Use this box and select -- mobile. Unfortunately if you are doing this from PIE it doesn't do anything. The easiest way to view it is to add the following to the address of the fourm/thead that you are looking at.

&styleid=6 to view the PPC Stlye
&styleid=2 for the Mobile Version.
Both are mostly text

yes, and they may be mostly text, but there are ups and downs to everything...

mobile version's cons are that it doesn't enable you to download files, and there's no PC style feel to it.

and if there was a full version that could be viewed on a true HTML browser, then that'll be the beauty of it.

What do you mean by the full version?

Whatever you do, try to avoid changing your pref in the control panel. If you go to mobile, the only way to go back to the defualt style is using the selection box on the front page (took me a while to figure that out!). As soon as you select mobile skin, your control panel loses the option to change skins! BUG!
