Verizon 6800 Radio

Wondering if anyone can help me. Just activated my new 6800 and the signal strength is a few bars lower than my 6700. I've already updated my programming by dialing *228 and selecting option 2.

Do they have a new radio version for the Verizon 6800 ? What do I need to install it ? My radio is currently stock, version 1.30.60 according to my system informatio screen.

My 6700 radio version is 1.10.00 running WM6

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

I believe I read someone @ 1.40 on their 6800. Bottom line is your code is the latest stock. Some folks are releasing their modded ROM for xv6800 if interested. I imagine it'll include radio. Anyone?

I've been using the 6700 for over a year now and the 6800 so far seems to be a lot better. It's only been two days but over all I like it. It's lighter, has better battery life and the hard buttons are better located than they were on my 6700.

I'm sure the phone isn't for everyone but since I use it for business and it only cost me 150 after all of my discounts, I can't complain. Actually it will only cost me 50 since my company will cover the first 100 dollars of any phone I buy. So for 50 bucks, I couldn't beat it.

After installing some apps and ringtones I have 22.68 MB free program memory and 143.88 MB storage. Just picked up a 2 gig microsd card so I'll some extra memory for my files and such.

I really don't care about looks on a phone. At my age, I'm more worried about functionality. If that was the case, I would have never got the 6700 since that's like a brick compared to my 6800

Yeah the 6800 actually looks good in real life anyway, the blue is subtle, and has a brushed metal look. Actual brushed metal surrounds the screen. My friend has a mogul, and the 6800 looks better. And no irritating POS click wheel looking thing.

I just looked at the picture of the Mogul. With my fat sausage fingers I think the hard button layout might have been a problem for me. With the 6800 design, there's no overlap of the buttons, especially the send and end.

With doing some complaining with Verizon about my experiences with phones in the past and refurb'd xv6700's, I got the 6800 for $100 with trading my 6700 in. I can't say I would spend full price when the folks that have worked so hard to make such stable rom's on the 6700, and made it fast and amazing features. This phone is amazing with battery life and the size is quite small for the package which is inside. It's fast with minimal lag and no external antennae. There are some things I did like with my 6700 that I don't have on this, such as easy volume change without clicking on the screen, and the rubber piece falling out from the navigator.

I am currently running 1.47, both it and the 1.40 raios are at xda. Becareful of the 1.47 radio it does a hard reset. Marginal improvement from the stock rom. The 1.47 had some problems on the mogul, and I think after 1 day, might have a higher drain on my battery, I might go back to 1.40.
