In regards to dialing *228 and updating w/ opt 2 - I believe if you have the data plan you should always dial *22899 there is no options that way and updates you for the towers in your area much better for voice and data.

A data plan has no relevance to OTA programming.

As for the radio and reception, I feel the signal strength meter reading on my 6800 averages around what my 6700 displayed prior to upgrading to the recent 6700 radio release, which made it better, so to summarize: The 6800 has great reception for me, and the signal strength meter has only been higher on my 6700 with the latest radio release.

So VerizonGuy, which do you recommend *22899, or *228 (option 2)? Tier 3 data keeps telling me if I have a data plan I need to do the *22899, and if not to do the *228...

And friguy3's radio question as well.

As a side note: Verizonguy I tried to pm you, your pm's are full, e-mail is disabled. Perhaps I should have started another thread, but it seems like this is a semi-reasonable place to have this info consolodated...

(edited 1 question out - irrelevant to this thread and found the appropriate thread)

Which leads me to... You hinted you were working on a xv6800 rom, or kitchen, how far away from some kind of a release are you?

p.s. touch999 - My wife thinks my Titan is much sexier than my Apache ever was...

I have the data plan and have no troubles going through *228. Works just fine every time.

I have not noticed any real difference between the 1.30 and the 1.40 radio packages. Everything seems to work the same, including battery life.

2 weeks or so. I used it with multiple custom ROMs and the stock ROM. I have not tried the 1.40 radio with the stock ROM.

No obvious changes in signal strength in multiple locations. o obvious changes in battery consumption.

You need to move the nbh file in to the RUU folder.
