Not sure if it's the same, but switching your ESN to another phone used to renew your contract. Not sure if that's an issue for you or even the case still, but you may want to make sure you're not just extending a 2-year contract out of convenience.

you need to be under ensemble to activate a phone online I believe all the accounts have been switched to ensemble's billing system but maybe the online accounts are taking a bit longer
