relative newbie battery drain issue

I have aim connected ALL day, is this gonna cause issues if i do the reg tweak for idle timeout?

It has helped with my idle data connection issues.

There is also a set of registry hacks that disable stuff that you probably don't use on a regular basis.

I used these, and I have increased battery life substationally. With moderate internet, and average calling, I can stretch a battery out over 2 days, maybe more.

This thread has some interesting topics in there. I have been plagued with a lot of issues connecting to the net, and many times it won't even attempt to connect. I've always suspected that the data connection used by Weather Panel and HTC Home was the cuplrit. I have hard reset several times over the past few weeks.

My batter just last week starting going very fast. I mean, it was dead in 12 hours. That's only using the net a couple minutes, a few texts, and maybe 20 minutes talk time.

I hard reset again yesterday, and have only installed a couple things so far. Both my battery and my data issues have went away.

I know some people have alluded to using a reg hack to disable a idle connection, but I must admit, I am confused about the situation.

Anyone who is experiencing issues with no data connection, what exactly did you do to remedy it?

Just out of wondering... Not to hijack a thread, but what is this radio for the sprint mogul people keep talking about?

1.47.01_Radio? Is that like a free radio program for sprint phones or something? I never got anything like that with my phone, but I'm always looking for good radio programs.

The "Radio" being talked about is the radio build the phone uses to communicate with the network. We flash 2 pieces, the OS ROM and the RADIO ROM. Depending on your OEM ROM version you may have one of several Radio versions installed.

This is no way connected to "music radio" - lol

Good radio, i like resco pocket radio. Lots of stations.
