I believe that he mentioned that he charged the device's battery on the dock and then put it back in with no success. :'(

I took the "dock" for granted (mine cradles the phone and uses the computer usb....)

Well, it is nice of you to offer a suggestion. Maybe I misunderstood too! If the led will not illuminate under any circumstance, the chance of survival is 0%. :'(

Did you succesfully unlock the phone before trying to flash it?
Granted, it seems to be dead regardless, but it may help yourself and others to track down where something might have gone wrong. Of course, it may be a coincidental random hardware failure, but it'd be a big coincidence...
