well - I just found an answer to my own question - I googled the problem and got a link to this response - and it works! Boy do I love google for tech issues - I should have started there anyway. Oh well, in case someone has the same issue here's what I did to fix it -
Turn your phone off...then call your cell and leave a message. Turn the phone on and then go to your voicemail and listen to the message. Listen and then delete it; then press the appropriate key to disconnect from voicemail, don't just hang up...(for
Cingular and AT&T it the star key "*" to disconnect). That should clear the "voicemail" icon...if not, turn the phone off and then back on. I had the same problem and fixed it by doing the above. Hope this helps you.</SPAN>
