How to make touchscreen dialpad quicker?

I just got my Mogul today and it's pretty sweet - love how many things we can tweak on them. One thing that annoys me though is the lag between pressing a number on the touchscreen dialpad and it actually showing up (when making phone calls). I heard that it has something to do with smart dialing - but did a search and couldn't find anything about it.

Oh and btw - any recommendations on the best place to buy a 4gb microsd card?

I hate this issue, but I've only seen it on ROMs where Sprint is the core. It's much quicker on Alltel and Telus ROMs, even with SmartDial enabled.

Do you have the tones (noises) turned off? That speeds it up alot...

As for 4gb micro...

I purchased my 4gb microSD card from supermediastore.com
I've ordered from them a couple of different times and was always very happy with the customer service.

Just disable the keypad sounds and that should fix the lag.

Press the green phone button then click menu and proceed to options. Under options you can disable the keypad sound.

wow, that's always bugged the shit out of me....but yeah turning dial pad tones off worked perfect....thx

Odd, turning off the sounds never made any perceptible improvement for me, and the lack of sound made it harder to notice when it had failed to recognize a keypress...

Awesome!! thanks for the help guys - now to buy a microSD card... that emartbuy link looked like a solid deal at $42 shipped. Haven't really seen much in the way of better prices otherwise.
