I had the exact same problems with my XV6700 until I started using the WM6 Kitchens and ROMs ...all my VC problems went away and it worked very well. I did use the hack to slow the speach down (or up if you wanted) which made it very easy to understand.
With the xv6800 I am stuck back with the same problem. One of the things I do to get around the verification is to give the "SHOW" command instead of the "CALL" command. This way I can visually verify the contact I'm going to call. I say "SHOW John Smith" and the John Smith contact comes onto the screen with all the choices for phones. Then I simply select (by pressing or scrolling down to the wanted phone) and there you go. It is a little bit longer but I hate calling people I didn't mean to call! I guess we have to wait for some new kitchens or ROMs (Verizon!!) SeaRay Man
