Sprint has a new 'statement' at BAW:

Any GPS experts out there that can translate "Advanced User Plane and Autonomous GPS functionality will be added in the next ROM upgrade" into English for me?

Does autonomous GPS mean real GPS, not aGPS? A quick Google search leads me to think so.

It looks like no matter which one it is, they are going to lock it to Sprint Navigation.

i saw the internal memo today with the launch date on it set for 01-28-2008 and not only that we will also have on more bonus feature on it "SPRINT TV" you heard it right. it will have that added on it and this has also been tested around developers at Sprint HQ's at Reston, VA. They have found no problem yet so far so lets hope it stays the same and we get it on time. i requested the beta rom of this new development and i was told i have to wait about a week or so.

Perhaps its the software engineering side of me, but I'm always fearful when too many new things are packaged into one update. Too much opportunities for something breaking the whole thing.

I would rather they roll out one thing at a time. GPS.. check. Rev A.. check. WinMo6.1... check..

But who knows what will actually happen.

ok I know I will probably have my bowels reamed to no ends for this but... I was perusing a certain area of the web and I came upon this GPS enabling ROM for the Trinity. I remember back in the day when I had a 6700 that most of the kewlest trix for it was ripped from other phones. So I will post this rom in my user folder on the FTP and pray to GOD and ALA and Pee Wee Herman that one of you.... Yes just one! Can take the GPS enabling part of this rom and see if you can get it to work for the Titan. Or even if you have to try to pull over the entire rom. I have learned never to underestimate the tenacity and creativity of the people on this site. Good Luck and if this helps may I get 1000 Hookers in my bed tomorrow!

It was my understanding at the time that RevA and GPS would roll out with 6.1. I got this info may be 2 months ago...so things could change. But I'm sticking to my peeps word.

I believe this one.. Sprint knows how pissed we all are, and while they probably don't care, i can see the 28th being a valid release date, not too soon but not at the end of Q1 like were all expecting. I can also see them implementing sprint tv now that we all have it anyways.

My friend who works at Sprint told me today that Rev A probably will not happen... He has a Mogul and is getting rid of it for the Pearl... He told me that whatever amount of Moguls they have in the warehouse is all that will be left.... they will not be making anymore....
