Wrong topic. There are threads talking about the 2.17 update which was released last week. 2.17 is already old news. This thread here is talking about the NEXT update which will bring more features such as the promised Rev A and rumored GPS (As opposed to the current "maintenance update"- they don't even call it an upgrade rightfully so- which just FIXES things that never worked properly).

Also, alarms were fixed already in 2.16...

many of you are correct, sprint has the best data/voice packages. However, they have not tied the mogul down to a TRUE data plan ($$ / KB, unlimited KBps, etc).

They ARE looking into a way to change this and thus make the plan for ppc devices go up considerably. As of now, the data charge for a ppc and regular 'vision' phone is the same. however, they can see the difference in how the phones are being used via kbps and other info, and are working towards a new way to bill these devices. In that case, sprint and verizon would have equally shitty plans and cost too much.

I think the poster understands what the first quarter is, but remember the said early first quarter and march would be considered late first quarter...

Well it also depends on whether you are talking about the calender quarter, or the fiscal quarters. The company I work for Q1 starts in Feb.

Which would still make march half-way through q1. My company is already halfway trough q1 fy 2008. But thats government for you, and I don't expect them to be on that schedule

Okay guys, you're all reading into it way too deeply... What reason would any company have in basing a public release off of their own fiscal calendar?? That's just silly. Quarter one for us normal people will be January through the end of March.

Seriously guys if Sprint was basing this information on their own fiscal year, they would have certainly made mention of that. Nobody in their right mind would assume they would use their own personal fiscal schedule for a product release...

Believe what you want, especially if it makes the wait that much easier for you. But all of the speculation is getting rather silly if you ask me.

True as anything I've ever heard, but why should today be any different than any other day? Some of the grand conspiracies and stuff on this site make Nostadamus look intelligent. 2.17 was due "by the end of November", according to Sprint, so some people planned on spending all day that Friday flashing and screwing with their phone. That they'd spend more time than an hour in the evening was silly enough, but then some people got downright indignant because it was released *earlier* than the release date they made up in their heads. Then it was posted that it had to be buggy because it was released ahead of time. And when their browsers preferred cache over live site, they said HTC must have pulled it because of bugs. Speculation? Here? Are you *serious*?

Everything works. The device is WAY faster/more responsive. No BT drops or bad sound. However, the memory leak is still there. But I don't think it's a memory leak. After talking to a WM dev here at work, there's some RAM tied to caches and services after app starts that you can't get back....and that is intentional on MS's part.

26.14MB of free RAM at idle with no customizations or apps.
20.17MB of free RAM when idle...fresh reboot...all apps stopped....threaded SMS, HTC Home + cusomization app, Live Search, VC 1.6.

After 12 hours, and every app running (8 in list) the RAM dropped to 5MB. Stopped all apps.....RAM climbed to 19.77MB. But the good thing is that when the RAM dropped to 5MB, it didn't slow the performance and responsiveness of the device.

So far, so good.
I take back my comment on Bluetooth. It turns out all my bluetooth disconnection issues was because of Voice Command 1.6. I have 100% confirmed, at least on my device, that VC 1.6 causes bluetooth to disconnect during phone calls.

Now that I removed VC, my BT is PERFECT!

Also, I'm sticking to my original info on the RevA/GPS ROM I got internally at Microsoft: RevA/GPS ROM coming in Spring 2008....that is late Q1, early Q2.

Don't hold your breath for "early Q1".

Isn't the important thing that it's finally getting done? with all this moaning and complaining about how late is precisely what prompted htc to release the mogul earlier than expected. You want something well done? don't rush it then. just wait patiently and if you can't well, get another phone and start the cycle all over again but please stop with the speculations and the "detective, insider, most credible source I can't mention but he's right" speculation.
