The first driver I install (manually) is the HTC USB Modem driver, which goes flawlessly. Then, windows detects a second hardware device and I point it to the HTC Diagnostic interface driver. It then pops up a file needed dialog asking for "qcmdmxp.sys" on HTC USB Driver Disk. Is this second driver needed for this tethering method to work? Thanks again.
Try pointing it to your \windows\system32\drivers folder.

I just have to say that these directions worked perfectly. This post in fact comes from my laptop connected to my phone.

Thanks for the detailed and concise set of instructions (as well as downloads)!

I'm doubting it. I've been searching Google all day long and the only x64 driver I can find is for the TYTN/Kaiser. I'm going to contact HTC and see what they say. Can't hurt to try I suppose.

Help Please1 I 've done everything except I do not see a windows directory on the Mogul so what do I do with these...

Wireless Modem.lnk
- Description: Shortcut to Wireless Modem application (Points to "\Windows\WModem.exe" /LAUNCH)
- Place in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder on your device

WModem.exe
- Description: The actual "Wireless Modem" application
- Place in \Windows folder on your device (v2.08 Mogul ROM already has this file).

WModem.exe.0409.mui
- Description: English language resources file needed by WModem.exe
- Place in \Windows folder on your device (was missing from v2.08 Mogul ROM).

I'd like to get the bluetooth connection working too but have not had any luck other than sending picture files from the Mogul to my computer. On my last phone I had a DUN connection on my laptop that would connect via bluetooth on the phone. I'm at a loss on how to get it to work on the Mogul. BTW that connection says it is using com 40. Kind of high but I don't see how to change it.

HTC's response to my request for Vista x64 USB modem drivers:

Thank you for your inquiry about the Sprint Mogul

We know it is important for you to utilize all the features of your device, we will do our best to assist you with information in this matter. We apologize for failing to respond to your original email, after searching our systems we found no record of your emails to us between today and 11/11/2007. In regards to your question, HTC does not develop the software or supporting synchronization software for any of our devices. Additionally we also are not authorized to support Sprint customers at the request of your service provider. If you wish to modem tether your Sprint Mogul to your Desktop or Laptop, please contact Sprint's PDA support group for further assistance.

My response:

I would like to thank you for your response.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my email. I do find it hard to believe that the manufacturer of the device doesn’t support the necessary drivers to connect the devices to computers. Motorola supplied the drivers for my Motorola Q, Dell supported the drivers for my Axim X51V, HP supplied the drivers for my iPaqs….. Seems a little suspicious to me as I have seen the Vista 32 bit drivers available for the Mogul. Either way, thank you for your time. I will do some more research prior to contacting Sprint as they are as helpful as a man with one leg in an *** kicking contest.

Have a good afternoon.
