for anyone who hasn't tried, if you create a new connection and give it the name phone as modem, it says name already exists; even though there isn't one.

Spint PCS #777 radio is the same as PHONE AS Modem radion button

Fricken awesome! Only took this noob 4 hours. I get this error displayed on my mogul screen, but the modems still works. Any ideas? I searched Google but a lot of Verizon tethering info comes up.

Error code: 1010
Error Code: 1010 data service is not available when the device is in tethered and bluetooth dial up networking mode.

Great instructions, had it working in no time...Thanks.

Now for my question. How do you get this to work with the Xbox 360? This is the reason for me to use this program. I have a crossover cable and connected my laptop to the xbox 360 with it but the Xbox kept saying no connection.

Is there something else I need to setup either on the xbox or laptop? Please help, this will be my only way to get online with the xbox. Thanks.

Hey all new here but successfuly have dcd 3.0.4 running perfectly with usb tethering, gps, mms and all. The only problem i'm having is this BT teathering. I am on verizon and when i tether with usb there is no problem, however if i use BT DUN it connects at the usual 115, but my browser is redirected to a verizon page asking me to pay 30$ for tethering. I'm using WMODEM to connect and i have done the fore mentioned registry edits as well as installed the BT WM6 cab. There has to be something in my registry that is giving me away to the man. Any clue?
Thanks,
Bones

You have to setup your laptop for sharing your dial-up connection. It's pretty easy on Windows XP/Vista through ICS.
  1. On your laptop right click on the Dial-up entry you created for your phone and choose the "Properties" menu item.
  2. On the "Advanced" tab check the "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection." option in the "Internet Connection Sharing" section.
  3. Under the "Home networking connection:" section choose the network adapter that is connected to your XBox (Most likely labeled as "Local Area Connection").
  4. Ok everything
  5. Connect to the Internet on your laptop
  6. Boot-Up your XBox and you should be good to go.

I greatly appreciate this tutorial. Although no files have been downloaded yet on this connection, a couple of 'vanity' speed tests show good download and outstanding upload speeds.

1 Attachment(s)
To make installing "Wireless Modem" easier I created/attached a CAB installer. It should place all the files in the right places and perform the registry edits for tethering detection on install.

Hmm, I don't have Verizon, so I can't really do any debugging for your issue. But a search came up with this for the PPC-6700 (Precursor to the Titan) that may apply:

Quote:

Enable Bluetooth DUN (Dialup Networking)
NOTE: This is common knowledge, not an original hack by any means

Once Multi-NAI has been disabled, enabling dialup networking is relatively simple, and will allow you to connect your laptop to your carrier's data network. If your DUN has been crippled, chances are you're using Verizon.

1. Dial ##3328873 (##FEATURE) and press Talk
2. Enter the unlock code (000000 for Verizon)
3. For each of the two features ("Enable Wmodem" and "Enable BT DUN"):

* Hilight the feature
* Click the 'Edit' option
* Change the value to 'Enabled'

4. Click the OK option, and you will be prompted to soft-reset

Now, whenever you would like to use Dialup Networking (or when pairing your device), run the "Wireless Modem" application from the Programs menu. If this does not appear, use File Explorer to navigate to your Windows directory, then click the WMODEM application (Hint: You'll need to "Show All Files" to see it). Then:

* Choose 'Bluetooth' from the dropdown menu
* Click 'Start'

You will need to turn off any data connection before using WModem
