Phone function randomly turning off

So I convinced my girlfriend to get the Mogul and she likes it for the most part. She's going through the learning curve from going from a Razr to the Mogul. Every once in a while, the phone function on her phone will turn off on it's own. I've had the Mogul for about 4-5 months and I had the XV6700 before that and have never had this happen to me. Anyone have a clue what's going on with it? I'm about to perform a hard reset but wanted to check here first.

Edit: Forgot to mention she's running the 2.09 ROM.

I believe holding the end call key will turn off phone functionality, that may be her problem. Try enabling the lock.
