On the rom speed issue, it may be that because items in ROM are marked read only WM is able to work with them faster,... perhaps we are just all hallucinating - someone should really benchmark to see...

If you do include Cody's Palm Threaded SMS app in your ROM, don't share it on here. There are rules due to Palm complaining about their friggin threaded SMS app. If you create a ROM with the Palm Threaded SMS installed, share it privately. Don't post it on the forums.

Just a heads up

Threaded SMS and MMS should DEFINITELY be included on all roms. However, something like X-button should be left up to the user's choice. For example, SPB I use Pocket Plus 4.0 and it has a built in X-button feature. IMO, its better than HTC X-button 1.51. (2.0 is bloated garbage).

Anyway, my point is some people use a different option like PP4 or WisBar. Therefore, this option should remain open.

When I think of an ideal rom I think of a streamlined ROM with the core features (Office, for note functionality, Voice Speed dial, crucial Registry edits, Youtube hack, cdma compat. dialer skin, etc.) I personally find that the included voice program (with voice tags) is more accurate at recognizing my voice than Voice Command ever is (not to mention WM6 and VC incompatibility bugs).

Things that should be removed are all the Sprint Crap, on Demand, Live, etc. Just the junk that nobody uses or stuff thats clearly replaced by something better.

where and how can i get on for a kitchen for cooking roms

I tried your rom tonight but I am going back to the Sprint version of it. Start up time after a hard reset is way too long for me. I was thinking about cooking my own increasing the Pagepool to 8mb. I also had trouble syncing to my exchange server, got an error 8007000e with a clean rom.

The startup is slow BECAUSE Of the 4mb pagepool, right? So 8mb would be even slower.

A larger pagepool speeds the device up to a point. 6mb or 8mb seem to be the sweet spot for 64mb devices. The 6800 defaults to 6mb.

8mb would start up faster, however I really don't think the startup time is that much of an issue since it only affects OS boot after a hard reset.
