Once again....phone starts at 24MB after reboot. I use the phone...threaded SMS, PIE, Messaging (EAS), ICS, HTC Home, HTC Task.....that's it. I stop all programs....of course HTC Home and HTC Task still run. 10.94MB RAM.....no reclaim....stays at that level until I reboot.

I think you misconstrue a lot of the intent here. I think what people are doing, including myself, is not complaining...but posting their experience up for compaison to other's experiences....to get an idea if it's just them or not...and to add to the collective "brain" so light bulbs can start going off and then we can help ourselves....since we get little to no help for Sprint. |

"All users should update their ROM even if they do not experience any of these issues currently." I actually tried th link and after waiting for it to install I got some error saying it's not a valid app or something like that.

Overall the rom has been working better for me. I haven't had any issues with bluetooth the dpad, or memory leak. My memory is much better now too. I use Windows Live so when I do a soft reset i'm at 20 megs free and after getting as low as 10 megs cuz of open programs I close them all out using the HTC x button and get all the way to 18.5 megs. So yeah you can say my memory leak problems have been fixed. I'm running all the sprint "crap".
I only did two of the reg edits this time too. One being the landscape pictures fix, and the one that gets rid of the sent message notification. I didn't install threaded sms this time but installed all my other programs. Overall this phone has been much better. I'll let everyone know how battery life is for me this time around even though I didn't do any of the power saving registry hacks. I'm not saying any of this to gloat, just offering my experience. Maybe alot of these problems are a registry change people are making or maybe it's different hardware versions of the phone. |

i've had the rom for almost 24 hours, and here is what I have noticed:
All the problems that were said to be "fixed" on the site, are in fact, fixed. alarm works, bluetooth works much better (sounds clearer, easier to maintain connection w/ my H700 headset), and keyboard works too. some of the bugs I have found: phone locks up when in roaming or searching for service. (sitting in my physics classroom today, I found that my phone would not wake up when service was lost. i soft reset, and it worked for a few, but then when it went to sleep, it would not wake up again.) another issue I found, and I haven't read about, is that sometimes I get my texts at a delay. if someone sent me a text at 8:04, and then someone sent me one at around 8:43, my phone would not tell me i had received the 8:04 text until I got the 8:43 text. so I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue w/ texting. Also, I am NOT using the palm app, b/c of the double messages that it sends out, and I am using just the included SMS. and I am using the same exact config I had with the previous rom 2.09, and I never experienced a problem with that. |

The truth is, Sprint's service thus far with their PPC devices has been awful, but the tweakers and developers are happy for whatever bones they throw us, and to be honest they DO throw quite a few. For example, when I called 2 months ago about the BT quality, multiple people had contacted Sprint by then so they knew about that problem and the ball was already rolling on getting a fix (apparently this update). We can keep that momentum going if we make them aware of these problems as well. I was probably one of the first to report the freezing/lock up issue, and they had "no reports of any problems yet." I'm glad to hear from cykococo that they are starting to notice a pattern here. As far as light bulbs going off, a bunch of us regulars have already determined that its the Radio ROM (as least as far as the freezing up goes... the D-pad may be a seperate issue). This is being tested for confirmation now by flashing only the radio portion to a different rom, and so far so good. The problem is that we can't "help ourselves" as you say, because re-writing the radio code is beyond anyone outside of HTC's development team. We're just piecing together the older code to make it work like it was before. If you want anything to work BETTER than it was, well then, pick up your phone and dial *2 to do your part. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO'S CALLING IN, AND THE REST OF YOU BETTER DO IT TOO! |
