I have re-installed SPB Backup with the new ROM and it works perfectly. I don't understand why people have so much problem getting a new ROM to work for them?? I just did what was asked before installation and after finished I found that my BT didn't work and I contacted HTC and they said Install it again and after this it worked just fine.. I found it to be the hacks I popprd into the registry that messed up the install. You WILL need to re-install everything new and SPB backup after re-installing it works just like all the other stuff I had to re-install. I really hope this helps, (DON'T RESTORE AN PREVIOUS FULL BACKUP) AND EVERYTHING WILL WORK JUST GREAT IS WHAT i HAVE FOUND..) Wanderer51 (John)

I think the comments regarding SPB Backup was whether or not you can reinstall your programs from a backup after the rom update. The answer is "No". Not whether or not you can reinstall SPB Backup itself.

wanderer51, your experience is an anomaly.

Known bugs in this ROM:

1) Turn on BT, wait until phone goes to sleep, turn on, dpad no longer works. (reproducible)

2) Switch phone from roaming to home to roaming, phone locks up hard (reproducible)

3) BT disconnects at random (I haven't seen this but others have)

For 2), it appears the culprit is a buggy radio file. For the others, who knows. In any event, I went back to 2.09, with the keyboard fix, and it's working adequately for me. No freezes or lockups since, and for me, bluetooth works adequately in 2.09 (I use it mostly for music rather than calls).

msswitch is correct. What has been discussed is not restore a FULL backup from an older ROM into a new ROM.

The backup programs themselves work fine.

I was having issues the first time I installed this ROM. However, I temporarily (like a couple of hours tops) went back to 2.09. Due the a keyboard bug I had in that one (not the reported one) I couldn't stand it so tried 2.16 again. I haven't had any of the issues thus far as I had the first time. And, I just tried the roam to home to roam switch and never locked up. I could see the signal change from EVDO to 1x each time, but no probs.

Try
1. switch the phone to roaming
2. make a short call
3. switch it back to automatic

Does that work for you?

I know that HTC's website says that we should update to this rom. However, I really haven't had too many issues with my Mogul, knock on wood. Only problem was the crappy battery life, which improved due to the hacks. I have read the thread about battery life with this new rom and that seems to be the only advantage for me as I do not use blue tooth or the sprint music store. I believe that someone said that the radio was upgraded, but what can you really expect from that?

Anyways, I guess my question is should I still upgrade? I like my mogul the way it is and have read all the posts regarding other people's problems and their downgrade back to the 2.09.

DON'T UPGRADE... TOO MANY people have had issues so if you haven't upgraded, WAIT.

My phone worked fine for a few days after reflashing but tonight it started locking up.

AGAIN, DON'T UPGRADE.

Doesn't sound like much of an 'UPGRADE' to me. I think I'll stick with a custom alltel ROM for now. Been very stable for me. I see no need to load a stock ROM from Sprint. It's actually quite foolish considering there's some custom ROMs out there that are better than any ROM that Sprint will ever release for this phone.

So frustrating.

In almost four months now, I've gotten used to not being able to use my headset with my phone; it's incredibly frustrating that the bluetooth is (maybe) finally fixed, but I can't upgrade because of the roaming problem; I have some really bad signal areas here that I drive through every day, so there's no way I'm upgrading right now.

With the amount of hassle it is to have to reinstall everything, you'd think they'd actually test these things before they release them.
