Downloading zip files?

Im new to this world. I just got my mogul 2 days ago. I have been getting a lot of information from this site, but i got one problem. I hardly ever use my actual computer, so i wanted to know if it is possible to download and extract the zip files right from my ppc. I have tried searching and cant really find anything on the subject.

Thanks!

Uhmmm did you check the FAQs sticky???

Quote:
* To open ZIP (compressed files) on your device use either Resco Explorer or Total Commander (freeware) - NOTE: WM6 includes native .ZIP compatibility, however, these 2 file explorers provide lots of enhancements to your experience.
To summarize, yes you can. The Mogul/Titan already comes with native access to handle ZIP files, there should be an app called Zip on your device that will handle them. Also, you can access them via the stock File Explorer.

I personally use Resco Explorer, it is well worth the money. Many others use Total Commander because it is free. But once again, yes... you can download and extract ZIP file on your device.

Welcome to PPCGeeks and remember to read the FAQs threads (and search)!

Let us know if you need more assistance.

Well it seems all of a sudden on my titan, PIE won't let me download a zip file. I remember seeing somewhere in the registry i think where you could set allowable file extensions that PIE can download..Anyone?

Still having problems. Some attachment zips do not appear in pie. Is there any settings that i need to check. And if i do download them, the error message "this is not a valid Pocket PC application" comes up. Is there ANY possible way to install it without using a pc? Applications or anything like that?
