GPS reciever though USB
Hi noob here. Great site!
I have just got a new Titan and can't get my GPS to work. I previously had an HTC Falcon and the GPS software worked fine and said that the GPS was connecting on COM 1 @ 4800 bps. I use GPS Tuner http://www.gpstuner.com/ The GPS also comes with a standard USB connector as well, that works fine into my laptop. So I bought a USB to mini-USB converter and plugged into the Titan. No go. I checked the power and that is OK (and the orange charging light comes on on the Titan). I dragged out my old oscilliscope and can see data on the 2 data pins as well (not surprising as it works OK with my laptop). I also checked to see if the data was on the right pins, ie not swapped d+ and d- and that was OK too. Both GPS Tuner and Google Maps can't auto find the GPS. I also took half an hour a tried every manual config possible as well, and nothing works. Has anyone got a USB GSP reciever to work OK? How did you do it? |

Yes it can sync data, and be used as a laptop internet connection, but both of those are using the Titan as a slave device. The device has no USB host capabilities which would be needed for a usb GPS.

Thanks all.
Well that explains why it doesn't work. Next step is to break out my credit card and go get a BT GPS. |
