thanks dcd! This Rom doesn't freeze on me and it seems MUCH more responsive!

dcd, you should consider putting Tierr Autoinstall into your custom ROM http://tiermann.co.nr/

Colonel put it in his and it really helps speed up the install of your personal cabs.

Now that is a great idea. That is one thing I really liked with Colonel's ROM. 8)

DCD, I love the idea that you put forth by creating this thread and I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds by asking this. As stated before in this thread (many times) it is apperant that people have different ideas of what should actually be in their ROM. I like some of what you have done but would really like adobe and Office back in the rom along with a VPN client. Now I know that those are not going to be universally wanted by everyone.

So what I would ask is that instead of investing a lot of time creating an update to this ROM if you could spend time creating tutorial that would teach people how you are creating the ROM's kinda like this one: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ght=create+rom

I think that this would benefit a lot of people and would keep it so that those who are using your ROM are just the people who want the stripped ROM that you make. I hope I'm not offending anyone but I think this would be very beneficial to me and others on this site who don't yet have a (kitchen?) easy way of knowing how to make a ROM

Adobe Acrobat Reader PPC 2.0 Cab Here

For those wanting Adobe Acrobat Reader 2.0, you might have noticed you can only find a windows executable. I managed to extract the cab from that installer and I've uploaded it to rapidshare for your installing enjoyment :D

It's about 8mb, so keep that in mind as its not a small app. I installed this cab on my Mogul for testing and it works fine.

Here is a version where I upx'd the main executable and took out the adobe "readme" pdf. It cut the size down by about 2mb. I haven't tested it, but you are welcome to.

actually, i am redoing the rom, and i am leaving adobe and office in. removing office appearntly breaks the 'notes' feature that i do use and need.

funny thing is, that tutorial you pasted was the tutorial i was originally following. i wont turn this thread into how to customize a rom, but if you can figure out how to get back and forth from a dump of the rom contents, you can use those directions. however, id suggest waiting. you will see nicer tools for titan in the future. i think that what you are asking for is a kitchen. trying to have everyone manually rip into the rom to make their own personalizations would be a huge mess.

ive already got a "clean" alltel os with sprint settings recreated. i need to tweak my stuff before its ready. maybe today but who knows.

Well thanks for your reply, I was going off of that tutorial to create my own ROM now, but didn't know if I was wrong so I kind of stopped. Now that you say you used it will continue to follow through it and research the things I don't understand. I will say that this is my first experience with WM but I'm not unfamiliar with modifying ROM's on POS. It's the subtle differences that matter though ;) thanks again.

tommorrow will be to late. lol. if sprint releases there rom update AND it fixes things like bluetooth. then i would think you will just start all over with cleaning up that one. correct? as far as i know the only difference is the mms, carrier crap that you had to figure for sprint anyhow. no matter what you give us i cant wait. thanks dcd for all your work.

BTW. that is cool your leaving office in there. that is the only one i couldnt find allready in a cab. everything else we (the users) can add when and if thay want. adobe has been around for years.
