Thanks for the clean rom, and I think you current have it set up perfectly. Don't add anything back!

I agree, this rom is just perfect as is. I wouldn't change anything. This allows ppl to make a choice of what they want in there based on their need, so if you like live messenger, it can be installed after the fact. Same goes with office.

Personally I'll keep office on the storage card as opposed to main memory because i really don't use it, but i don't want to be without it (just in case). But i still get the benefit of more space on internal memory because by taking it out, dcd allowed for more memory internally.

just my .02

this seems logical, ill change.

as i've broken notes and timezones, and the popular request seems to be office back in, im changing direction here. im starting back with a fresh alltel dump and redoing my work. i've found a better way of changing values anyway, which will be portable when a new OS build is available. i had already removed some of the things people want when I decided to make this rom usable by all. I'll (hopefully) have a "1.1" this weekend instead of the final i was working on.

so id suggest anyone hold off on this for now until i post something new.

what is the general feeling on live/messenger? ok to remove?

1 vote to keep live in, i use it alot

awesome rom btw, i feel it runs a lot smoother

DCD Rom:
Could you give me a working link to download this rom, please?

Clean ROM! let people install what they want!!

codyppc 10-19-2007 07:37 PM

peope. people.

live, voice command, office, ondemand, x- button, ect. can all be installed manually. it would not be a clean rom if it had stuff in it. you may have heard this saying the other way around... "one mans treasure is another mas junk".

the progrms above may be used by some but never by everyone. these programs could be considered junk. this is not to ake it easy for you to hard reset and have everything you want allready installed. this is to allow you to start fresh. then install JUST what you want. i allready have most of the programs above in seperate cabs. just a mater of time untill we have everything we want all cabed up. i can cab anything as long as someone tells me what files and where thay go. most people who do cabs will have no problem makeing them for others. cabs are alot easier than roms.

i say keep it free for everything butfixes and make to add ons easily availble.

just my 2 cents

I might be wrong here, but I think if you install Xbutton 1.51 on DCD's rom (even though it is already installed), and then UNINSTALL the cab... it could completely remove it from the ROM.

But then again, maybe it won't.

Great job with this ROM dcd. I have been running for a few days now with no problems, besides the ones mentioned. And I am with cody on this, keep it clean. :)
