Thunderbolt - No data

So, I received my shiny new hTC Thunderbolt Friday afternoon. Popped in the 4G SIM card, popped in the battery and powered it on. Went through the activation process and all was great. Super-fast phone, simultaneous voice and data. Then late Friday evening no data at all. Several call to Verizon over the weekend with them telling me that Thunderbolt is having issues with 3G. There is no 4G in my area yet, WTF now I have no data for two days. Is anyone else out there experiencing problems with the Thunderbolt data????? Please help, VZW tech support has been useless.
