Anyone knows a phone staying connected with wi-fi even when it is standing by?

I just wanted to mentioned that as soon as Tytn stands by, it shuts off wi-fi connection as well. So, let's say you are using an internet application (e.g. MSN Live Messenger) through wi-fi, when the phone stands by, you loose your connection as well and it sings out.

That doesn't happen when you connect to internet through 3G. That is why I prefer 3G but it is not free if you go over your monthly limit. Therefore, I like to use wi-fi whenever available, but as I mentioned above, with wi-fi, as soon as the phone stands by, you are signed out from internet applications on your phone.

Do you guys know any solution for that or know other phones which will be connected to internet even though the phone stands by?

When you standby a PPC it is powered off. No CPU. Sort of like "suspend" mode on a laptop. Most everything is powered down except the cell radio, and Bluetooth if that's enabled.

No phone would last more then 3.5 hours if it kept wifi on when in standby. None do.

Try downloading Kaiser Tweaks. It has a settiing that allows wifi to stay connected in standby, but get ready for short battery life
