Re: Im about ready to....
Yo yo, its all about the verizon crapware that's built into this thing, I have had good luck now after my third hard reset. But verizon has crippled this device. De be nothing else we can do about it till the hspl is released beside the nopifix and proxy disable. Hard reset, install only things you need and nothing you don't. Soft reset after each install. I'm not ready to give up yet especially after my moto droid's screen won't turn off, I've hard reset that b*tch in the 3 weeks I've had it. Hey come get the Robot that does what it wants to do. Here's the one one, devices that do this much will never be perfect. It's just which device irritates you the least. I hate the verizon encrusted OS for my imagio, I hate the droid's quircks and limitations and only three homescreens, I hate at&t's crap shoot coverage, I had an iphone 2g that sucked the lost calling life out of me, I hate that the hd2 is going to Tmobile, I thought at&t's coverage was substandard it better come with its own built in 3g tower, my diamond works great if you can see what you are doing and not press the wrong thing on the tiny screen. My imagio does what I need it to for now answer calls with good coverage and quality, quickly allow me to sms, work great with my bluetooth headset at the gym, works good for watching movies and youtube vids while I'm driving and at work, allows my laptop to use wifi to connect through verizon's data connection, takes good enough pictures to where I don't have to carry a digital camera, gives weather, porn vids look good, syncs great with outlook and myphone, and of course the network. Convince me to get rid of it.

Re: Im about ready to....
Really? Man mines working great even with the Verizon rom on it. (I've had three WM Verizon phones that were a mess.) Crippled? How so? I'm sure a working Hardspl will be out soon enough.

Re: Im about ready to....
Crippled in the way that if you don't remove them you will find yourself creeping thought simple tasks. Even if you do the fixes, you only kind of half remove everything it just presents itself as gaps in the os that cause the device to lag a bit which is still better than having mediaflow and vcast running on the device. If you don't think your device is lagging now, which I didn't, get your hands on a motorola droid, and I'm not a fan, but our devices with 6.5 should be accessing exe's that fast. Wait till we can put a custom rom on this thing you will nut yourself, and be wondering why it didn't run this fast in the first place. But like I said above even with the bit of lag that it gives it is still the device I would choose right now. What sold me on it in the first place is I loved my TP but it was clunky and the screen was just too small. And to clarify furthermore, My imagio works great, I just want it to work better.

Re: Im about ready to....
I wanted an iPhone on Verizon's network without having to do any hacking or other advanced (for me) trickery. The Imagio is more than close enough to make me happy. That said, if the HD2 was coming to Verizon I'd drop the Imagio in a heartbeat. But I'm happy with it for now.

Re: Im about ready to....
I just sent my Imagio back today, although I was sad to do it. I got the TP2 and Imagio 3 weeks ago to test both out and I really like the styling and the way the imagio fits in my hand but what made me take it back was a lack of a power button like the TP2 has.
On TP2 I just press the button and the screen and keys are disabled and I can drop it in my pocket, with the Imagio I had to lock the screen and because I sync with my company's exchange server that enforces a password on the device I would have to input the password every time i wanted to use the phone which was a real pain. |

Re: Im about ready to....
Any experienced user will tell you, that is not a fanboy, it all comes down to you, the user. Ex. I need the imagio's 5 mp camera for quality document scanning. The imagio is also a sleek, refreshing change from my old TP in that it doesn't feel so damn bulky. I also am very familiar with win mo's customizations and am content with its openness. And every accessory I own is mini usb not micro. I need removable batteries when I travel. I need a large, crisp display for my poor eye sight.

Re: Im about ready to....
Nah, I have no need for a physical keyboard. The Imagio does everything I would've wanted from the iPhone, plus it's more customizable.
