did you try to see if it animates on comp not all gifs animate

Nope. I'm on a Mac, but I might as well try it on a PC to be sure. What app would I use on a desktop to check the GIF?

ok, now I've got the GIF files playing, but the sound WAVs (startup sound and shutdown sound), even though they play in WMP on the desktop, don't play on reboot. Any ideas?

the gif your trying to install

try this you can see it here http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-...d-radioactive/ tested this and works dont use the cab just copy the image and rename it Startup there are 2 pics there as well you can name the one that had welcome on top welcomehead and it will sho right after the startup logo looks tight
