Unable to use Wifi Sharing util, pls help?

I'm going on a biz trip in a couple weeks and will need to work while on the road. Wifi sharing on the Imagio will be the easiest method of getting network access for me.

I have installed the slot six AssassinsLament cab and have completed the reg edit, the application runs fine....but I can't find the SSID from any laptop.

I'm desperate for help on this. I have scrubbed the net for 2 days looking for the answer and have found nothing.

not sure what that is.
just use wmwifirouter or htc wifirouter.

plenty of posts about these already.

Is your laptop set only to show acces points? The wi-fi router creates an ad-hoc network.

not sure how to telll the PC to only show ap's or to add the ability to add ADHOC connections. I would think that just browsing wireless networks the SSID should show up anyway, no?

nvm, found the adhoc option but this does not fix things. I still cannot see the WIFIRouter SSID on my list of networks.

The XDA-Tom_Codon CM Wifi Internet Sharing VGA.cab is all you need. no registry edits or anything else. It's the HTC WIFI file. Very cool.

Did you run through the setup, or just toggle the on-off switch?

I'll confirm it works. I think it only accepts one connection at a time but I could be wrong. I used it at lunch with my sales partner and it seemed only one of us could connect at a time, but our Lenovo's are sketchy to begin with so it could have been the PC's.

OK. I downloaded and installed the cab file listed. Now what? I can't see it anywhere on the Imagio to activate and my laptop doesn't see the phone via wireless (access point nor ad hoc). Next step please!

I don't use this, but it might be under the Comm Manager in the Settings Tab?
