3.5mm(1/2") Heaphone Jack

Is this jack 3 conductor? Meaning can it also do the microphone as well?

So it would have three conductors,
Left Audio
Right Audio
Mic(Input)

it would need a 4 conductor jack for a mic. you forgot the ground.

ahh yes i didn't think of the ground. Either way i am wondering if there is the third conductor in there for a microphone

There is, as I plugged in my headset to test it out and was able to use the voice recorder to record my voice, I didn't test it out in calls though. And yes, I isolated the headset mic, so I know it wasn't getting picked up by the default mic.

Yes, you can use the mic and any controls on the wired headset. I have a 3.5 mono (single ear) headset with a mic and hold button that came with my cordless phones, works on the Imagio.
