Re: Post pictures taken with your Imagio good or bad
Good day, as long as there isn't much motion and not so good night, but we all expect that w/o a flash

Re: Post pictures taken with your Imagio good or bad
I keep seeing pictures from the Imagio that appear less than expected. I seem to get pretty decent results with mine.
This first one is taken at a bar at 6AM, less than ideal lighting to say the least. I hand held the phone. This is Louanne's RT 68 famous steak salad! Next is standing on my front porch at about 6:45 AM, the sun is just rising. Again, hand held phone, but resting the back of my hand against the porch stancheon. I have gotten what I thought were really nice photos with the Imagio, some of them in lighting that was far from ideal. |

Re: Post pictures taken with your Imagio good or bad
really is pretty lackluster :\ just because its better than the "almighty" iphone doesn't actually make it a good product. hope someone in the big meadia calls them out on the camera & teaches them a lesson for the next HTC i buy LoL!
sensor really sucks when it get moving the iso around. i wouldn't know, but it seems pretty slow getting what the sensors sees into memory; is as prone to motion blur as anything ive ever seen (on the bad end) and is low fps at 640*480 resolution video (regardless of codec). phone would be alot better off if they would have put in a high end 3mp sensor with a flash than whatever low end 5mp sensor they used. the focus & noise, especially in anything but full sunlight is a joke. no phone led is going to provide fill or correct colors... but itll atleast get the thing in focis at short range & photoshop can easily deal with the color/contrast issues by itself. not the phone's fault but if you plan on mms'ing pictures around you're limited to 3mp shot on verizon. kinda sucks sending 3mp pics to someone witha dumbphone who sends out 2-3mp pics off a higher quality sensor that look better. really. love the phone, but the picture side of it sucks. (to reiderate) you can sum the entire experiance up with "poser cheap 5mp sensor only installed to fool dumb americans with a 5mp spec". |

Re: Post pictures taken with your Imagio good or bad
Also remember that all these are phones that do pictures, they aren't cameras. Eventually the two devices will converge (for point and shoot) and we'll have it all. We just need to wait until that happens and for now be happy they they are a good solution for non-print photos and for being able to get a photo of some quality at all times.

Re: Post pictures taken with your Imagio good or bad
another point of suckyness on the Imagio's camera is videos. its not *just* that the fps is horrid at higher resolutions regardless of your codec choice.
its that the audio has some incessant need to de-sync from the camera. SERIOUSLY this thing does NOT have the cpu or memory bandwidth to deal with recording anything @ 640*480. haven't demuxed/remuxed it to really check, but id bet this thing has audio sync issues doing 320*240 @ h.264 also. phone itself kicks ass, but the camera/video system on it is obviously just some cheap shit tacked on to pad the phone's stats. |
