Does Apple Have Patent On The Back Of The Iphone?

Seems to me that HTC is trying hard to make their phones slimmer but have yet to make them nice and round like the back of the iphone. So I'm thinking that apple must have a patent on that style?

The imagio is so close to being round on the back but it has those flat edges. SO, toda I sanded the back of the battery cover and rounded everything out! It looks and FEELS fantastic!

I just have to repaint it tomorrow cause the first time was a "test" to see if I like the all glossy black. I might go wih a 2 tone black and something.

I will post pics in a few, but keep in mind the paint job is not all that great YET.

Heres some pics. If you guys like this let me know I can sell you one all done and ready to go. Just have to buy a few covers and mod them, paint and send to you. I did this not for looks, it actually feels really nice on the hand. Its the SAME feeling when you hold an iphone 3G, the feels is that nice and slim!

Want a different color? Thers a mod for that!

what grit sandpaper did you use, what kind of paint?

Looks good. Not sure i'd spend the time n effort for just a REALLY small change! Good work man, but wet sand the pi$$ outa that thing! I don't understand why everyone wants to turn everyother phone into a iphone! If i wanted 1, I would have bought one! Just my 2 cents! All that matters is that u like it though!

First, I never said I wanted it to look like an iphone, I alreaday have a 32gb 3gs. I mentioned that so as to COMAPARE since it now happens to look like one for the BACK.

Second, you have no idea how slim this looks and FEELS buddy. It is well worth the effort. But if your happy as is, good for you. I was not and I new I could make it better and I did and I'm very very happy with this look and feel.

It depends how fast you want to get done.
Use 180 to knock out the edges and rubber silivone stuff they use on the right side. Once its all even and rounded out top,bottom,and sides than do this.

Use 1000 grit to smooth out the scratches of the 180 grit. Than use 1500 to get rid of the 1000 grit scrathes. The 1500 grit will also smooth the whole cover nicely.

TIP: Remove the camera hole cover(so you can sand with ease). It just pops out pushing fom outside to in. There are just 4 stall tabs holding the cover with a little pressure. When you get everything done push it back in place.

Also, use some megiars color restore (or the like) to polish your finish cover. I also use the stuff to shine the dull front plastic of the phone. My imagio looks newer than when I bought the thing.

Btw, You can use any paint you want once you have it down to the plastic. I used enamel paint because the clear coat they sell in aerosol are generic. The enamel leaves it very shiny. I also polished it with some rubbing compound #7 to get rid of the paint smell. Than I polished it out with the meguiars mentioned above.

Sounds like alot of work and it is but I do this kind of stuff all the time so its not bad for me. Try it, I PROMISE you its worth it!!!!!!!!!!!

I might be selling this battery cover as I have pre ordered the droid.
I HOPE by thursday someone will make the roms happen for the imagio so than I can have a hard time deciding which to keep. But for now the imageo wont even play ,mp4 without wm taking forever to open up a bloddy movie.
