Re: Anyone considering returning?

So clearly I must be missing out on what everyone else is doing. Why take off the cover after the first day with it unless your a chef constantly experimenting? I know the phone can freeze to the point the end key doesn't work, but if you're on stock or a good custom, it just shouldn't happen very often... Sorry for the rant.

Re: Anyone considering returning?
I'm in the exact same boat as the original poster. Coming from an xv6900 with NFSFANS rom and a Seidio battery I'm extremely disappointed with battery life and memory use. It has such great potential its really too bad that it falls short in these critical areas. I've also had to reset every couple days because its blank when I wake it up. The screen, speed, call quality, are all great improvements over the xv6900 but the requirement to recharge every night really blows for my needs! That said, still on the fence myself.

Re: Anyone considering returning?
I should be getting mine on Monday Nov 2. I am very excited to try it out I have had the Omnia, Touch Pro and now soon the Imagio.
My biggest issue with the touch pro was the lack of RAM for running multiple programs. I flashed a few roms and still it was not good. I need to run Skype, Palringo, Pocketwit and have the notifications and also get my messages. I hope this can do it without too many hickups, b/c my omnia could for the most part with cooked roms |

Re: Anyone considering returning?
I'm also considering returning it. The location based weather never works, and when it does it shows the wrong location, the web browser is constantly crashing with not enough memory, the battery drain is never consistent... etc I've missed a few calls and messages due to some unknown reason which I had to do a soft reset to fix. I came from a Blackberry Curve and while not pretty and no bells and whistles it did work all the time with never needing a reset. I love the size, look and all the features of the Imagio but don't think it's quite ready yet. It is very much improved over the Motorola Q I had years ago but I may try the DROID.

Re: Anyone considering returning?
I got to hold a droid today and let me tell you guys that the imagio look huge next to it. Not big time huge but just to give an example of how small this unit is I mention the word huge. Its not at all the size that the web pics make it looklike, to me I thought it was a big device, but its NOT!

Re: Anyone considering returning?
I just returned my Imagio, kind of bummed, I really liked the phone but it would just start to slow down to so much especially while web browsing and I would have to do a soft reset. maybe there will be a fix for the memory issues and i'll buy it again.
So, I decided to wait an see what other devices come out. While I was waiting to be helped at the Verizon store, there was a very nice rep from HTC there. She actually had a working version of the Eris. I must admit it looked very cool, but it was soooooo much smaller than the Imagio. She also had the Touch Pro 2 and the Imagio. She uses all 3. I asked her which one she preferred and it was the TP2, due to the physical keyboard. She was surprised that I was returning the Imagio. One thing though, she said that when you pressed on the arrow in the upper right hand corner that shows the percentage, she said that number is what was still available, I thought that it was what was being used. I don't know. Back to the Eris, it worked well, but the web browsing was kind of slow. She did say that it was a pre release phone that she got over a month ago and that it has had various versions of the Android system and that could be why it was slow. They also had a working Droid, key word "Had" apparently the Verizon rep turned it on and then a customer turned it off and they could not get it to come back on. So I had no chance to really check it out. |
