Actually~I bet this is sucking program memory as well----draining the battery every time it looks for a signal and if you live on the border of coverage I bet it switches back and forth all day long. The more I think about this damn mobile TV the more irritated I get. You would think that it would be an easy fix. I say "easy" but I don't have the skill set to do this.

Any good ideas out there~there are so many people in this community and over at XDA that I bet could do this. I'd be willing to give a donation for the person that solves this!

Hope everyone is having a good saturday!!

I'll take that bold part back.
I found that by deleting the reg key "Launch95=mflo_starter.exe" under HKLM\init\ will stop it from loading at start up. However the icon w/ an x will appear. I think that has to do with the dll that display status bar. Just need to find one to replace it and it should solve this problem.

Mediaflo is a one way deal. Its not like the cellular voice radio that sends, and recieves. Does your AM/FM radio "Look" for signal? Nope, It just recieves it if its there, not constintlly searching for it. I wouldn't be concerned at all, except for the annoying icon.

Yes but 1-way or not, it is an active radio which means power is being drained. That's why people want to find a way to disable it, but I have a feeling, it will take more than stopping the app from running to do that, but perhaps it drains less if the app is not running. We can hope, at least until an unlocker is found and the real cooking can begin.

Re: how to remove TV icon from the notification bar?

I'm not trying to start and arg or anything but if its and active radio it proves its using power? If the screen is active but the display is off is it still using power? I just don't understand how that proves it is using power thats all? By all means i would like to get it out of memory and remove the useless icon but i'm just not seeing the power point..

Maybe you're not seeing the power point because you don't have the pptx compatibility download?

Re: how to remove TV icon from the notification bar?

I am using CERegEditor. When I try to delete the value, it says 'cannot delete value'.

I assume there is some permission setting. Can someone point me in the right direction to remove this entry. Thanks.

Use Total Commander to delete the entry, I had no problem.
