Please help! taking forever to start up

Just recieved a Imagio from a friend, worked great until the battery died. I bought a charger for it now, charged it, now when i hold the stuck power button, it vibrates, say " HTC" across the scren, turns black, and does the same thing over and over ond OVER but does not turn on completly! Someone pleaseee help!

Have you tried doing a hard-reset? It will erase everything, But may be worth a try.

1. While the phone is off, press and hold Volume Down + Talk/Send + End/Power.

2. When the device displays a message about wiping the data, release all 3 buttons.

3. Press Volume Up to complete the hard reset.

Possibly a stuck power button?

I had a similar problem. Turned out to be a bad battery. It looked like it would fully charge but apparently couldn't supply enough power to keep the phone running.
