Imagio and Windows mobile not talking

Because of some serious illness in the family I have not synced my phone and the computer with windows mobile in a number of weeks. Now, tonight, when trying, the computer makes that sound when you plug in the device, but the message on the computer screen in Windows Mobile Device Center says that the device is not connected. What can I do? Do I need to delete the present partnership and create a new one? Or what? I have tried several different cables, always the sound, but no connection seems to be made. Help! Please.

recycle the power on you computer, and your phone, make sure they are both done loading all the programs and are idle before you plug in your phone. see if that works. if not, look up the usb ports in device manager and make sure they are functioning properly. also might want to check your data connection on your phone to make sure the settings are correct...

I sync religiously every day. I've been syncing my data for 11 years, since back when I started using a Palm. My Imagio has usually synced via the provided cable, but I developed problems back in August. I had issues with Active Sync not connecting with my phone. I got rid of the Active Sync relationships, then set up new ones, uninstalled Active Sync, then reinstalled, unloaded USB drivers, reloaded them, tried multiple cables, even got a replacement phone (when we felt like it was probably the USB port on the phone). I finally resolved my sync problem by purchasing a Bluetooth dongle at Best Buy. Now I can sync wirelessly, and I haven't had a sync problem since September when I got a Bluetooth dongle. It's just an idea I thought I'd toss out there for your consideration.

Did you recently flash the phone? Something must have changed somewhere. Once I had a problem with my SD card where nothing would happen with the card in and when I took it out it started working. Somethings to think about at least.

Rebooting seemed to do the trick
