Re: How to know: End Of Life Imagio
You are correct. My wife just told me we started with Verizon in October of last year, so only a year. I wanted the TP2, but they were out.
Still, a year with this phone and I am satisfied.

Re: How to know: End Of Life Imagio
Yes, the button crapped out on me a few times, I hate resistive screens and yes, Verizon was expensive as hell (great service though).....
But I held on coz I was in love with it. Even when there was no HSPL...I had Vcast and I had people at PPCGEEKS help me understand and tweak my phone. The joy I felt after my first registry tweak worked (I think it was rotate screen)....And then came along the HSPL and GTX Energy ROM. I never let go of my Imagio since... I wish it had a faster processor and more RAM and a Capacitive screen; I wish it had an app store like Apple or Android....not that I'm really interrested in the one's that makes baby-fart noises, but ones that are cool, more games and stuff...... But still, as a world traveler I bide by my Imagio and live by it to see me through crappy Airport security lines and connect with my family from across continents. Thanks to all the people who have made our journey memorable *think imma go to a corner and cry* ......

Re: How to know: End Of Life Imagio
who needs a busy forum. if it works for win mo then it pretty much works for the rest of us.
I love my Imagio. I use it well & find fun things to do with it. My cousin hates his Imagio with a passion because he never took the time to learn it & is easily swayed by useless features on phones. The button breaking issue is a miss, but the thoughness of the phone is a hit. Ive seen them scratched, cracked screens beyond belief & still working. The free 1 year warranty replacement is flat out stupid silly. It was a good buy in 2009 and if you've got a flashed rom, layout you like & overclock it. Its still a great phone. |

Re: How to know: End Of Life Imagio
I'm test running a Samsung Fascinate right now, not sure if I'm keeping it or going to return it and just go back to my Imagio. I'm not really seeing any real advantage for the Android platform over my Imagio. Actually, I see disadvantages on the Fascinate that make my Imagio look all the better. I can not get the full BING on the Fascinate with voice turn by turn directions, the email clients are all seperate and are cumbersome compared to the single point of entry on the Imagio, the charger cable is a micro usb instead of the mini on the Imagio and I liked mini because it works on my Garmin GPS, my external hard drive, my phone.... it was a unified cable type. Now I have a unique phone cable and charger.
I have another 3 weeks to test this Android phone, but so far I'm not seeing what the big comotion is about.... My Imagio has been doing all this for a long time and seems to have a bigger following of tweaks and upgrades for software. I'm torn.... I have phone envy, but my old phone still seems better off than these new ones. |

If you start it low like I suggest, you get their attention, and a few will bid "just in case", and then you "play the hook" - once they are paying that much attention there will be a tendency to obsess about it, and they stay with it at least up to the average of other COMPLETED sales. The reserve will keep you from having to give away in case this does not play out. Also, try to time it to end on a weekend, when people have more time to track it as the deadline approaches, and that increases the bidding frenzy. Do a little research checking out what sold items are selling for, and their bidding history. I bet you will see the majority (that are not snapped up at ridiculously low BIN prices) started very low. And don't worry about "snipers" like me if your reserve is realistic, and the initial low price gets the ball rolling. We snipers will pay "reasonable" prices, but are just staying out of the frenzy game - we set our limit "internally", and bid it at the end regardless. If no (unfrenzied) snipers participate, then the bidding frenzy may give you a bonus over the "average" - just don't count on it. That's how I have seen it played out over the years (and played it).
