Re: How to know: End Of Life Imagio
I still got mine, and still feel like I am on the honeymoon! Everyday there is a little something new that I find I can do with it. And like CoolPoete said, CHT's tweaks really make it fun. I am looking at upgrading to 2.0, but want to check to make sure the SMS and MMS are working fine. I still love this phone, and am always hunting for little tweaks, themes, icons, wallpapers, whatever. It still runs fast and doesn't give me too many problems.
BUT, I will be getting a new phone once my 2 years are up. I may go with a 7, not sure about a droid. I like WM (call me crazy), and if the rumors turn out to be true, maybe the ViPhone. Will wait and see. If I can get another HTC phone, will probably go that route if its workable withing budgets and stuff. And this may be a 'dead' area, so is XDA, but they are still pumping stuff out for WM and Sense, so don't give up on the Imagio itself, instead, work on its OS, which there is still tons of stuff out there. |

Re: How to know: End Of Life Imagio
I've had my Imagio since the first week it came out and it's still going strong. I've had zero problems with buttons or the screen. I've used several different ROMs and UIs on it over the past year. My only complaint is that it needs more RAM. I gave up on the 2.5 ROMs because they don't leave enough RAM available (kept getting out of memory messages when using Opera), I like the visual voice messaging included in the original ROM, and none of the cooked ROMs allowed AVRCP use with Kinoma (my media player of choice). I'm not sure what I'll do in the future but I probably will not replace this phone until Verizon gets their LTE network up and running. There is no reason to waste money buying a new 3G phone when 4G is right around the corner. Not sure if I'll buy a winmo7 phone as I'm not comfortable buying a first generation device so I'll probably buy an Android; Verizon isn't getting winmo7 phones until mid 2011 anyway.

Re: How to know: End Of Life Imagio
It's stuff like this that makes me want to switch OS, knowing that Microsoft is still developing around 6.5 but won't update ROMs for current devices. Want me to get a new phone to experience a new OS you say? Sure, I'll switch. I'm sure it's a matter of time before this ROM gets hacked and developed, perhaps even for our Imagio. We'll see...

I think I may have screwed myself with a $100 start and a $175 reserve. The bidders may not have felt ownership (the emotional attachment) because of the reserve. I also had a $275 BIN price. Please tell me your method of listing. |

Re: How to know: End Of Life Imagio
I am still using my Imagio. And had it replaced one time because of its the stuck button issue, I have 't idea to set it. It is very useful and fun again to set its settings.

Re: How to know: End Of Life Imagio
Spoke too soon! My Imagio crapped out not long after writing that. The screen no longer would recognize any touches, and after hard reseting over and over, it wouldn't correct itself. So ordered a new one, will be here today.
Almost walked away with the Droid X, but free replacement compared to another 200 bucks out the door.....I will take free. Now to figure out if I can install cookies without flashing, but don't think so. |
