Regedit to Block data? Want to give phone to kid

Been awhile since I have been on the forums. I switched to Android and have considered giving my daughter my Imagio but don't want to pay for Unlimited data for an 11 year old.

I remember there was a regedit on my Q9c that disabled data access except for Text messaging and Picture messaging.

Does anyone know if I could do similar on the Imagio?

verizon won't activate an Imagio without the $30/mo data plan. Sorry but someone has to pay for all those Droid TV commercials and that is us.

-1 on Verizon. Of course the data plan is sort of a safety net for customers. I was trying to work through some data issues with a customer service rep. He told me I used 8mb during a certain month. With the unlimted data plan it cost me $30. He then proceeded to tell me if i had used that much data without the plan my bill would have been over $10,000!!! And that is not a type-o.

$10,000 for only 8MBs?? That rep doesn't know what he's talking about because 8MB @ $1.99 per MB rate thats only $15.92

Now if it we're 8GB usage that'll come out to $16,302

There is a small application that I use to manually turn off data that works better than other applications that I've seen built in to custom ROMs. You have to turn it off and on and if you for instance reset the phone it may turn the data back on so you have to keep monitoring it. Not what you want, but maybe it can help. Just copy it to your programs folder.
