Imagio sd card disappeared

Today I started to install a couple of cab files to the memory card on my Imagio only to find that all traces of my SD card had disappeared. Vanished. In File explorer there is no trace of the card. Nothing, nada, zip. I have no explanation.With it went a number of apps that can quite probably be reinstalled ... but to what? The computer does not even see the card.The device itself as well as my desktop does not show it. Can someone, anyone help here? I have worked with PC's for over 30 years, and know not to delete anything without first being sure what it is and having a reason to do so. So where should I start in this instance to rediscover the memory card and put it back in working function? HELP! PLEASE ...

Correction: It is the device that is not being seen in file explorer. The card is what I am looking at! Yet, my previously installed apps are gone nevertheless. It appears that the original software all works ... but what I have put on the device all appear on the screen but I am getting an error message that say components cannot be found ... try reinstalling or restoring??

Well, let's try this a third time. Computer shows a drive with a letter, and it contains what is on the card. In file explorer on the device, I am seeing Device only and no memory card. Trying to put all this together. Bottom line no memory card shown on the device and none of my apps originally installed by me

Am going to fool with it until perhaps someone can give me a small clue as to what may be going on here

So the computer sees the memory card, (which it does) but the device does not see the card. Even if some diagnostic software was transferred or was copied to the card from the computer ... you can not run it from the card because the device does not see the card. So where do I go from here? I am running windows 7 on the desktop and windows mobile. Windows mobile does not see the card either, which is to be expected since the computer does not see it. I have soft reset the phone and removed the battery in an attempt to reset the system

That is a really strange problem. I would say to throw in another memory card (if you have one) to see if the problem follows. Worse case, backup you data on the phone and hard reset that thing.

I would not hard reset just yet.

Try putting the card in a card reader and plugging it into your desktop. If the computer can see it, backup the files from your card and then re-format the card as FAT32. Then put your files back on the card and put the card back into your Imagio.
Nothing lost but some time and effort.

Too late .. hard reset seem to allow the card to be seen again. A task to reinstall apps again, but the cabs were still on the card and every thing back working again.

on connection to the pc, the imagio( winmo6.5x)asks you for how you want to connect; activesync,disc drive or internet sharing .ifyou originally chose disc drive and checked the do not ask again box - then every time you plug in the imagio it bypasses the phone and goes for the sd card and mounts it..allowing faster file transfer ..at that point the sd is unavailable to the phone until you disconnect from the pc when the imagio remounts it.if the remount hook is broken(.its happened to me before)..then unless you find the 'show pc connections options page fix cab'(something like that)..it wont show until reflash or hard reset..ive only had issues after clicking the do not ask again box...so stay away unless you know how to circumvent the connection manually.
