Thumbs up Extended Battery

For all the complaints about battery life, I'm surprised no one has posted any information regarding the extended battery option. I've seen one post regarding someone looking for a case to cover their extended battery Imagio but nothing regarding the actual battery or it's life. So, I took the plunge, spent 40 bucks on ebay and got one. This is how it should have been from the start. Charged all day (16 hours), woke up at 5:30am, few texts and calls on the way to work (1hr commute), a little web browsing here and there (hour at most), and a 45 minute call on the way home. Still at 67 percent. Made a few more calls, surfed a bit and then tethered wirelessly for an hour (actually now) and still have 27 percent. I'm not particularly thrilled with the design but the bulge is flat and the new backing allows it to be placed flat with no rocking. You still keep the stock kickstand and all the other openings but the back now is all nonskid material as opposed to the nonskid/slick material combo on the stock. The weight is negligible but the battery door is much easier to remove than the original. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase and think that it addresses and puts to rest my main concern with the Imagio.

Re: Extended Battery

Thanks. Can you provide a link to the specific Ebay seller/product? Was this the OEM extended battery/door? I've been wondering if this Mugen 3200mah battery is worth it, anyone else using this?

Re: Extended Battery

I'd buy it just for the easy-to-remove case! Where did you see it?

Search Ebay and you'll find it. He had 15 of them last I checked.

Re: Extended Battery

Has anyone tried the Mugen 1800 mah that fits in the existing case?

Re: Extended Battery

Just decided to jump in and by the 2150mAh through Verizon on line (made by PCD). I receive a 20% discount through work so that helped a little. So far the results are excellent. After an overnight ten hr charge 10 hrs of roaming with a half dozen calls watched the full length Avater video with external speakers and then some late night web surfing I still showed 22% battery life. I think this was a good buy!

Re: Extended Battery

Ok, update on battery life for the extended battery. Spent about two hours on Word editing some notes, played Bejeweled for half an hour, dozen or so phone calls, miscellaneous texting, Bing navigation for half an hour, 45min phone call on the way home, plugged into my desktop speakers and listened to some Slacker radio for about an hour and was at 30 percent after 14 hours of use. Not too shabby.
